Isn't wood wonderful. However it doesn't grow on trees. (Sorry I've just been told it does) but not all wood is from renewable sources and the more we can re-use the better for our environment .
The pallets on below will be taken apart , nails removed , trimmed , and machined.

pallets outside touchwood

Pallets in waiting . This seemingly large stack of pallets will soon be whittled down Removing nails is a vital operation as one missed nail could ruin a cutting blade in an instant. Stripped pallet wood is sorted into thicknesses and quality. Any nail holes are drilled and plugged.

We are keen to try our hand at recycling other types of materials and have already discussed ideas and possibilities with Entrust ,increase SALE and the supportive Highland council .
We would welcome input from other organizations or groups with recycling info.

Waste not want not

Nothing is wasted . Scrap timber is made into firewood . Even wood dust is mixed with glue as a filler . To keep the workshop warm and to help dryout the pallet timber we use offcuts in the big drum burner. Visit " gallery " to see what happens to real wood . Mobile sawmill and briquette maker complete the picture

Perhaps my first sentence was almost correct . At TouchWood , wood doesn't come from trees , it comes from pallets .
